Spiros N. Kioulanis (Post-Doc, Ph.D, M.Ed, M.Sc, M.B.A)
Spyros Kioulanis was born in Athens where he completed his secondary education studies. Τhen he studied at the Department of Theology of the Theological School of the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. He holds a postgraduate degree from the Hellenic Open University (M.Ed) on the Postgraduate Studies Program "Studies in Education", a second postgraduate degree from the Democritus University of Thrace (M.Sc) with specialization in the Environmental Policy and a third postgraduate degree from the University of East London (MBA) in International Business. He holds a Ph.D. degree of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the field of Pedagogy, with subject the distance education and training of teachers. He also holds a post-doctoral degree (Post-Doc), of the University of Macedonia in the field of adult education.
From 2009 he has been teaching as a Professor-Advisor at the Hellenic Open University in the Postgraduate Program: "Adult Education". At the same time he collaborates with other universities as a teaching staff. From 2019 he has been teaching at the Neapolis University of Pafos in the Postgraduate Program: "Master in Theology Distance Learning". He has also been teaching at the Frederick University of Cyprus in the Postgraduate Program: "Med in Adult Education".
He has taught as a Theologian in Secondary education for eighteen years and he was the Director of a Lyceum from 2007 to 2010. From 2005 to 2008, he was a Regional advisor in Lifelong Learning for Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, aiming at supporting adult educators from all lifelong learning structures. From 2010 to 2020 he was the Director of Education of the Directorate for Secondary Education of the Regional Unity of Drama.
From October 2020 he has been working at the Institute of the Educational Policy, as a Scientific Counsellor in the field of Scientific Unit of Humanities and Social Sciences. He is in charge of the project: “Pedagogical Support of teaching of the Koran to the students who are members of the Muslim Minority of Thrace”. He also works in the Teacher Training Office, as well as in the Department of Educational Innovation and Inclusive Education.
He is the author of scientific and literary books. He has published numerous articles in scientific journals and in the press. Yet, he has participated in conferences and workshops with original announcements.
His research interests include distance education, online learning with emphasis on enhancing interaction in online learning environments, adult education, human resource management, and modern pedagogy and didactics.
He is the publisher of the open access scientific journal "Educational Circle", the inspirer of three international experiential learning conferences (2015, 2018, 2020), as well as the annual Panhellenic Literary Competition "Grigoris Pentzikis" conducted from 2012 until now.
As an external collaborator of the distance education unit of the University of Neapolis of Cyprus, he has contributed to the writing, quality upgrading and completion of the study guides of postgraduate programs of the university. He designed and implemented, in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions, online and mixed learning courses, as well as experiential projects, in which more than 5000 adult educators and trainers participated aiming at education, lifelong learning, training and scientific research.
